The sarcasm is strong in this one.Eedee wrote:Yes, I planned on having it sound like shit. You caught me again!!
No, really, was it a hidden message?

I'll let you figure that out.
Perhaps a little hint; look at the fuzzy mixtape cover then listen to the songs again.
However, I wasn't planning on THAT bad of quality. You know how the notion that everything goes fuzzy (sight, hearing) when you're about to die? Yeah. The only song not like that is Not Perfect... hence the name.

Soundboards are tricky things haha

It's obvious that you have a lot of heart, Eedee.
That's good enough as it is.
Even if you keep making shitty quality music, people will still notice the talent.

If you listen to the 8 Week Project, the mixing/quality was actually pretty good. This mixtape's quality was a fluke; I didn't notice the soundboard master volume and the vocal levels when we recorded was LOW, so when I turned up the gain, it was fuzzy.
It won't happen again, and I apologize for the quality on this.
Re: Lights Out (PREVIEW AND ANTICIPATION) Discussion
Usually if you wanna record, you should record low and add gain but have a limiter there to stop the vocals from distorting.

Yeah I tried messing around with a hard limiter but nothing worked.
I'll definitely toy around in the future so my sound is nice and clean.

Actually, you should use an effect chain on your vocals if you're using compression like Triple did; but, if you want clean stuff, just record everything at a low volume and make the FX chain in a multitrack program like this:
A bit of gain.
That's it, lol.
Send all of the vocals into the one track and use a limiter there.
The limiter should have a huge release, like, 1000.
On the vocal track the level should be around -6.02 DB to -5.00 DB.
If you have a loud track, maybe more.
If you want a better explanation, just hit me up.

Thanks, I will.
I'm not recording yet but when I do I'll make sure I confer with you about this shit.

Who cares if it's shit quality.
You're laying the blueprints down for greatness.

Everyone cares. If it detracts from the enjoyment of the songs, then it's a problem...
And apparently it did for everyone here.
Re: Lights Out (PREVIEW AND ANTICIPATION) Discussion
People that care about quality are fucking superficial, tbh.
I don't think anyone was REALLY bothered by it here.

Yeah but it detracted from the enjoyment, it seemed like.
Re: Lights Out (PREVIEW AND ANTICIPATION) Discussion
Well, maybe.
But how is it a major blow to the overall impact the album has had in terms of enjoyment?
People have been blowing their loads over Not Perfect more than your entire last mixtape.
I think that says something.

Yeah, that's true.
But I'd like to think there's more than one good song on that mixtape, but the quality really brings the others down.
Re: Lights Out (PREVIEW AND ANTICIPATION) Discussion
I doubt that it would matter really.
If you have anything good to work with, people will have respect for you even if you only had a handful of decent songs to show labels and shit after banging out mixtape after mixtape.

We'll see. I wanna work on some shit before I start recording again... Need to come back better than I've ever been.
Re: Lights Out (PREVIEW AND ANTICIPATION) Discussion
yeah
the tape was pretty cool
I don't see why you should be shitting your pants over people's reactions
to each their own
even if it was professional quality you'd probably still get haters if your album got loads of hype and got seen by thousands
hell even if 20 people hear it you'd probably still get one asshole dissing it

Thanks, man.
This December I'll be recording more and hopefully stepping my game up.
