Goodgame Empire

Post by TheDude on Wed Jan 02, 2013 10:13 am

Why does this keep popping up when I'm browsing this forum?
http://lp.empire.goodgamestudios.com/?country=au&lp=dr4wn&pid=435&camp=1&gid=12&cid=384576&tid=18313611

I know that this didn't happen before.

You have Malware.

Run Combofix.

It's got nothing to do with Forumotion; it's malware that's triggered by this page and makes the ads that usually get shown around this part of the internet to force itself onto your browser.

It's easily fixed by running Combofix.

I'm not 100 percent certain about this, but it's the best explanation I can think of.
If the ads are not malware or adware or whatever, then I really think Forumotion needs tor review their methods.

These types of ads have popped up on other websites like Facebook, though.

Yeah, solved.

I added Adblock Plus to Firefox and it got rid of it.
